What will happen to the 49ers odds this next season is a matter of question. What is certain is that Weston Richburg will be part of the team. Many stories were circulating, and only insiders knew the right story. Weston Richburg, the successful offensive lineman, agreed with the representatives of the 49ers. They will make a collaboration.
Richburg, 26, is the top center this offseason and he is on the wish list of many teams. After four seasons in the New York Giants, he made a decision to move further. Now, he is part of the 49ers, which will be official very soon.
The 49ers are struggling with the huge problem. So many injuries occurred in a matter of few weeks. Brandon Fusco and Laken Tomlinson were stopped on the way to give their best, and all of that because of injuries. The same thing happened to Daniel Kilgore, the main interior offensive line center.
Injuries stopped many players to contribute to the team, and now, the 49ers try to find the most suitable solution. The whole interior offensive line was weakened, and the accumulated pressure on certain players left the consequences. Garoppolo suffered the most because of this interior pressure. His injuries were the heavy outcome.
Now, the head coach, Kyle Shanahans, tries to solve the problem. He wants to reconstruct the whole line, and Richburg could be the most adequate player. Richburg will hold the ground as a center, and that is what Shanahans needs in the game. Great run and pass plays are the special skills of Richburg. These skills will be ideal for the team.
Richburg has huge experience in NFL, but it wasn't all sunshine and roses. He struggled with many challenges in his career, and one of the most difficult was a concussion during Week 4 in 2017. He missed a huge part of the season, but fortunately for him and his New York Giants team, he managed to recover.
Now, he is on the way to become the main player in the offensive line of the 49ers. His former teammate, Schwartz had only the positive words about the friend from the Giants.
Schwartz told the media that Richburg would be an ideal choice for Shanahans' offense, especially in the specific scheme orientated on the inside zone. The team would prosper in this part of the game.
It is still not official which position is reserved for Richburg. He could be a center or a guard, and we will know more about it in the next few weeks.
Another player that is interesting to the 49ers is DeShawn Shead, who played for the Seattle Seahawks. Now, he is a target of many teams, but it seems that he will be the next cornerback for the 49ers. Only if they agree about the relevant points. Shead was released by the Seahawks on Monday.
