When Levi stadium, a state-of-art facility opened its doors on July 14th, 2014, it brought to end the controversial battle that has been there for a long time on the future home of the 49ers team. That means Levi Stadium has now become the permanent home of San Francisco 49ers, after moving from the famous Candlestick Park, which used to be their home from 1971 to 2013.

The stadium has a capacity of slightly under 70,000 with about two-thirds of the seats in the lower deck of the stadium. Levi Stadium's suite tower has 165 luxury suites and 8,500 club seats. At the top of the suite tower is the 27,000 square-foot roof that also has a variety of vegetation. The stadium was designed by HNTB and constructed by Turner/Devcon from Santa Clara Stadium Authority. This facility has also won the best sports facility of the year according to Sports Business Journal of May 2015.
Candlestick Park
The Candlestick Park is a famous outdoor sports and entertainment facility located in West Coast, San Francisco at the Bayview Heights area. This stadium was a home field of the 49ers from 1971 to 2013. The stadium is situated at the Candlestick Point, which is on the western shore of the beautiful San Francisco Bay. The name Candlestick Point came from the Candlestick birds that were highly populated in this area for many years. During their time in Candlestick, 49ers hosted 8 NFC Championship games. The first game was played in January 1982 when the famous Dwight Clark received a game-winning touchdown pass from the maverick Joe Montana to give the 49ers lead in their first Super Bowl thrashing the Dallas Cowboys.

NFL
It was on October 16th, 2012, when Levi stadium was selected as one of the two finalists to host the Super Bowl 50 that was held on February 7, 2016. The other stadium that was also selected was Hard Rock Stadium that is located in Miami Gardens. The league announced on May 21, 2013, that Levi stadium won against Hard Rock Stadium during a vote that involved NFL owners to host the Super Bowl 50. The Super Bowl 50 was then held in Santa Clara where Denver Broncos won against Carolina Panthers, 2410. It was also the day when Lady Gaga had an opportunity to perform the national anthem while Coldplay together with Beyonce and Bruno performed at the halftime.
College Football
Levi Stadium is now famous for hosting many college football games. The first game was played during a regular season game that was between the famous Oregon Ducks and California Golden Bears where Oregon won the game. This stadium is also the home another popular game the Foster Farms Bowl in addition to hosting Pac-12 Championship game since 2014. In November 2015, a major announcement gave Levi Stadium another opportunity to host 2019 College Football Playoff, making it again the first game to be played in this state-of-art stadium.

This section features 11 unique galleries and exhibit spaces that are presented by Sony in a 20,000 square foot facility fully dedicated in showcasing the past, present and future of 49ers.
