There’s something about the 49ers Odds to beat Titans that doesn’t make much sense. People honestly believe that the 49ers have what it takes to come out victorious in their game against Tennessee.
Sure, the 49ers are only slight favorites but that is still shocking. Think about this. The Titans are not doing that well. They just lost a game to Arizona which saw them fall to 8-5.

But that 8-5 record looks like a dream when you compare it to San Francisco’s 3-10 stats. In fact, this shouldn’t even be a debate. The Titans should be overwhelming favorites to beat San Francisco.
However, there are a few factors that seem to have given the 49ers the edge this time around. For one thing, the team has won three of their last four games. More importantly, Jimmy Garoppolo has been performing brilliantly for his side.
He brought the game against Houston to a 26-16 finish having accrued 334-yards and a TD.
The fact that the 49ers are coming off a win while the Titans are still nursing a loss matters. It also matters that while Tennessee is focused solely on the AFC South Title, the 49ers are looking to secure a top 5 draft pick.
No matter how you look at this situation, the 49ers will definitely be the more confident team when they face the Titans. They are presently on the rise, having escaped a dire situation at the bottom of the power rankings.
They have a lot of momentum going for them. Yes, the Titans are a more solid team. But they also know the 49ers have the capacity to stun them with a defeat and that must keep them up at night.
For those of you still on the fence about this game, it might help to take a closer look at San Francisco VS Tennessee.
NFL Point Spread and Betting Analysis
49ers fans want to believe that San Francisco has a real chance at success. And it definitely matters that this is the first time in the season that 49ers have been favorites. But they are still underdogs.
And if you think it’s bad that they have failed to cover in 4 of the last 6 games, you might be appalled to learn that they have only covered 3 times in the last 13 home games.
Of course, the Titans have only gone 7-20 ATS in the last 27 games that have played out beyond the borders of Nashville.
So what does that mean? No one knows what to make of San Francisco VS Tennessee. Only one percent of bettors are leaning more towards San Francisco than Tennessee.
Funnily enough, the only reason the 49ers have any real credibility is because of the presence of Jimmy Garoppolo. Who knew that having a powerful quarterback could make such a drastic difference to a floundering team?
As for the Titans, the fact that the 49ers have such a weak defense hasn’t done much to improve their prospects in the odds. All Tennessee does is run the ball. They seem incapable of doing anything else on an elite level, and their offensive struggles should cancel out the 49ers defensive issues.
There is really no way of predicting the outcome of this match. Whatever happens, the results will surprise both fans and pundits alike.
